Hey future brides! Today I’m sharing a quick tip on making your pictures look EVEN BETTER by strategizing where you invest in florals!
Florals are something that can take the look of your photos to a whole new level. I ALWAYS encourage my brides to invest the MOST in one aspect of your florals: and that’s your OWN Bridal Bouquet! So let me explain…
Before I continue, I want to state that I am not a florist, and I honestly don’t know much about flowers (the closest thing I know is Michael loves getting them for me a lot :)). If you want a good amount of flowers in all parts of your day, then definitely talk to your florist and see what your options are!! However, a lot of brides I chat with don’t have the luxury of an unlimited budget when it comes to this part of the day… so I always encourage them to consider this option.
So first, what exactly do I mean by “invest more”? Basically, I mean making your bouquet bigger and more full, in addition to spending a little extra on the flowers you really LOVE! :)
So why should you invest more? The photos that will probably mean the MOST to you are photos where you are in them. Whether it’s your family photos or portraits of just the two of you, those are the ones you are MOST likely to print, hang on your walls, and look back on the most. Your bridal bouquet is going to be seen in the majority of these photos. In contrast, your bridesmaids bouquets will only be seen in select group bridal party shots… the florals at your ceremony will only be seen in wide shots, where they are small and barely visible… your centerpieces will only be seen by the guests at that table… but photos of the two of you will also be showing off your bouquet in 90% of them.
This is NOT to say you can’t invest in other aspects of your florals! I’ve seen some amazing things done with reception and ceremony spaces. And, that’s not to say you HAVE to invest your own bouquet and neglect other aspects of your day in order to have good photos. Because neither are true! And I would ALWAYS recommend investing more in your photographer than florals any day.
BUT, if you’re having trouble deciding what aspect of your florals to invest the most in, when maybe you don’t have a lot to work with… I always HIGHLY encourage my couples to invest MORE in your bridal bouquet, since it will be seen in a lot more photos, and a lot more of the photos you’ll treasure for years to come! :)
