Are you ready to see real growth on Instagram in 2023 with your new account? We recently went through building a new account with my Stephanie Kase Education brand on Instagram and grew to 1,000 followers in less than three months. My personal brand is also over 90K followers – so I’m sharing my strategies to see rapid growth on Instagram. If you’re just starting out (or ready to push your account further), check out these tips. These tips are going to work for you, I promise!!
CREATING YOUR FOUNDATION
The first step to growing your account fast is going back to the basics. Make sure that you know what your niche is and then create content around that. If you know what your account is about, it’s much easier to grow. Once you know your niche, you can optimize your bio and create strategic calls to action (CTA) for your account. Many accounts push you to a link but if you’re not being strategic, none of this growth matters. Creating a strong foundation is helpful for you to plan and create, but it’s also important because it gives people a reason to follow you. They’re much more likely to follow you if they know who you are, what you do, and what you’re going to be creating on your account. Make sure that it’s very obvious what you do from the moment someone lands on your account so they know why they’re going to follow you!
POST CONSISTENTLY
The second key for rapid growth on Instagram is to post consistently. If you’ll notice, I didn’t say to post every day or multiple times a day. I said: consistently. There isn’t an exact formula and posting looks different for everyone. Create a posting schedule that works for you. You need to understand what you’re trying to achieve. Are you trying to grow really fast or is a little bit slower okay? Do I want more engagement (story/feed) or followers (Reels)? These answers change what you want to post, but the bottom line is you need to be consistent no matter what.
Beyond your goals, you need to also think about your capacity. Someone with another job or who is a parent might not be able to post as often as someone home 24/7 running their business and that’s it. I’m a huge fan of creating a schedule that you can keep up with that meets the goals you’re trying to achieve. The same goes for the time of day. Remember, I’d rather you do what will allow you to be the most consistent.

SHARING REELS
The next key to growing on Instagram really fast is sharing Reels – especially if you’re talking about growing your followers and audience. I hinted at this above! Reels are definitely a place to put the effort if you want your following to grow. Remember, your Reels need to make sense within your brand and niche or they won’t work for you. When done with strategy and within your niche, you will see amazing growth! Reels are primarily pushed to a cold audience and gives them a chance to find and follow our accounts.
The other thing I love about Reels is that there’s so many ways to do Reels. From trends to lip syncing to longer ideas, you can find the Reels that work for you and are relevant. If you feel stuck with the Reels you’re posting, I want to encourage you to keep going. Just because it’s not doing well now doesn’t mean it always will! It can take weeks for them to pick up. It’s one of the reasons I like Reels – their shelf life is longer than a post or carousel can be. If you show up and are consistent, it will make a huge difference in your growth.
You also want to remember that growing your followers isn’t the only goal of Instagram. You also want to build a true community with your followers – that engagement matters, too. Building a community comes from showing up consistently, responding back to comments and DMs and just being there for your followers.
ENGAGING YOUR AUDIENCE
The next thing to think about when looking for growth on Instagram is your engagement. You want to engage with your followers and build your community. It’s also important to create engaging content that’s relatable, entertaining, and valuable. Creating interactive content can be a great way to increase engagement. Stories with polls, question boxes, and stickers can be an awesome idea to be able to talk with your audience. I love being able to talk with my audience and learn more about what they want to know. It just helps everyone feel more connected.
It’s also important to be responsive! Remember to answer your comments and DMs. You can always take it a step further with voice DMs to make those connections even stronger and personalized.
HAVE A SALES STRATEGY
The last thing to help see growth on Instagram is to have a sales strategy. Much like your posting schedule or strategy, this will vary account to account. No matter what your reason for having an Instagram account is (for your business, your content creation, etc.), make sure you have your end goal in sight. What is it that you want people to do with you? Encourage people to take that action. Maybe you want to be a coach, so the end goal is to have someone book a 1:1 call. Your content and your work on Instagram should push people to booking that call. Another example is if you’re a content creator. Start collaborating now – even if it’s gifted collabs. Find those little steps to get closer to your end goal in your niche. What kind of content is going to support your long-term goal? Chances are you aren’t doing this for fun. So, make sure that all of your work on Instagram supports that goal.
