In this video, we’re diving into how your old marketing habits are limiting your next level. We’ll go over four patterns that might be stunting your growth. These are the patterns that keep business owners stuck, especially when they’re trying to scale. You’ll learn how to build smarter content systems, avoid burnout, and grow without doing it all yourself.
1. You’re the Bottleneck for Every Piece of Content
If every single post, story, or email has to be created or approved by you, you’re slowing down your growth. This is one of the biggest issues I see with business owners. It leads to burnout, and it limits your reach.
Instead, build a long-form content system. That means choosing a platform like YouTube or a podcast and creating content there weekly. From that one piece, your team can pull emails, Instagram posts, blog articles, and more. You don’t need to be involved in every step. Your voice still shows up—but you’re not in the weeds of it all.
Letting go of control isn’t easy. But it’s a necessary shift if you want to grow past six figures. Create workflows, use templates, and invest upfront in training someone. It pays off in time saved and in visibility gained.
2. Your Marketing Starts From Scratch Every Time
Does this sound familiar? You sit down to post on Instagram and have no idea what to say. Every single time, it feels like you’re reinventing the wheel.
That’s a sign your marketing is fragmented. And it’s holding you back. The business owners who are scaling their brands consistently have a long-form strategy in place. They create once and then repurpose.
When you batch and repurpose, you always have something to pull from. A story post can become an email. An old email can become a new Instagram carousel. The ideas don’t need to be brand-new every time. They just need to be strategic.
3. You Think More Content = More Results
We often believe that business momentum comes from working harder on content. If we spend more time on it, our business will grow. But that’s not always true.
Many business owners with small audiences are crushing it. Why? Because they focus on systems and strategy. Not because they spend hours perfecting every reel or story.
I’ve seen this firsthand. I once grew an Instagram account to over 100,000 followers. But my revenue didn’t follow that same curve. Most of my business growth came from long-form platforms like YouTube and the back-end strategy behind my offers.
Don’t fall into the trap of thinking your content needs to be perfect. Or that it’s the only thing driving results. You don’t need to show up daily to make your business work.
4. You’re Trying to Speak to Everyone
The fastest way to slow your growth? Try to talk to everyone. The more people you try to reach, the less specific your message becomes.
Instead, go deep. Focus on speaking to one segment of your audience. In 2025, I narrowed my niche to YouTube marketing for business owners. Before that, I talked about content systems in general. Narrowing my focus made my messaging stronger and helped me grow faster.
You don’t need to serve every level of your audience. Choose the person who’s most ready to take action. Talk to them directly. That clarity is what makes your marketing resonate and convert.
Yes, it’s hard to let go of trying to reach everyone. But when you do, you create a deeper impact and better results.
