Today, I’m sharing a tutorial of how to use the NEW Reels templated feature on Instagram! This feature is so cool because it helps you create Reels even faster since you’re using what someone else has already done to create your Reel. All you have to do is add your own video or audio clips and the template automatically adjusts the images for the right timing and sounds. You don’t have to do the tedious work – it’s all ready for you! For the tutorial today, we’re going to be making THIS Reel, so if you want to follow along you can!

Using a Reel Template

If someone made their Reel in the Instagram app, they may have turned on the tutorial feature. When watching a Reel, look for the button in the bottom left that says “use template” above their username. If that’s the template you want to use, select that button! If you don’t see the template option, consider looking through the audio briefly and check if someone has made it a template. 

On the next screen, you’re going to be able to replace clips for your own Reel. You’ll be able to select images from your camera roll (or videos if you prefer!). Once you’ve added all of your images, hit the white arrow in the right hand corner. From here, the Reel will generate using your images. After that’s done, you’ll get a preview of your Reel! If you want to adjust the timing of your image or video, select the clip and you can move the white box around. This is more important for videos to decide which little clip would show in the Reel, but still good to know! Once you’re done, hit “next” and you can finalize your Reel from there.
