If you know anything about me, you know I LOVE the south! It’s funny, because I’ve lived all over the U.S., but when I lived in the south I was when I was under eight years old… so I don’t remember much of it! Nowadays, it’s my DREAM place to eventually live and it gives me all the heart eyes!! I just love southern inspired details and weddings, and if you know me, you know it just fits my personality and style so well. I’m also not a cold weather person (even though I lived in Alaska at one point… it didn’t change me) so all the warmth is just my dream!

Michael and I took a trip down to South Carolina and North Carolina last month and it was SO fun!! We visited several different places to explore more of what the south has to offer!! One of my favorite places down there is Charleston, SC and we had so much fun going there again! I had been a couple of times but it never disappoints. There’s always so much to do, and I was even able to set up a few shoots while I was down there!!

Our favorite things we did in Charleston on this trip: 

• Walking around downtown. Just walk around and see all the pretty places! We loved the City Market too!
• Rainbow Row and the Battery are also near downtown and SO fun to visit! I definitely recommend doing this in the morning if you’re going in the summer months because it gets super hot during the day!
• Eat at The Crab Shack. If you love seafood like I do, GO HERE. It was seriously one of the best meals I have ever had, hands down. So amazing!!
• Take a horse carriage ride. It’s so fun to learn more about the history of Charleston and escape the heat of walking around!
• Folly Beach. A super fun beach to go to and hang out! I wish we had more time to spend here!

Along the way there and back, we also stopped in Asheville NC, Greenville SC, and Charlotte NC. We are excited to keep visiting more places, so this trip is definitely not our last trip down south!!

This video was taken approximately 1 hour after the above photo. WOW there is a lot of rain, but thankfully it went away within a few hours!! Crazy!

Must-get in Charleston: mint lemonade!! This one was frozen and SO GOOD!

Now this place is the Biltmore in Asheville, NC. It’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL and a must see if you’re ever in the area!

On our way back, we stopped in Greenville where I got to meet up with a photographer, Christa (we’ve followed each other on Instagram for awhile but had never met in real life!!) and stay with my past Stephanie Kase Couple, Shea and Daniel. They were SO sweet to let us stay with them and show us around Greenville! We had a blast!!
