Alright, so here is part one of my trip to South Carolina!! We stayed at a resort in Edisto Island, about an hour south of Charleston. I’m going to be honest… it was hot and VERY humid, but the live oak trees? STUNNING. They alone were worth the trip. And the beach houses were just so adorable. I loved how they were all different colors… there were even some that were neon teal and pink and yellow!
One of the first things we did the day after we got there was go to the Boone Hall plantation… it’s one of America’s oldest working plantations. They also happen to have gorgeous live oak lined up all along the main road to the house. Definitely a must see if you every visit Charleston!
Okay, so is anyone else pretty much obsessed with The Notebook? Yes? Then you’ll love this next picture… the Boone Hall house is Allie’s family’s summer home in the movie. So cool.
After visiting Boone Hall, we got on a ferry to tour Fort Sumter. It’s where the first shots of the civil war were shot… it was so cool to see such a historic place!!
Overlooking the wonderful city of Charleston… :)
We took a quick stop by Angel Oak, one of the oldest trees on the east coast!!! It was HUGE, and my pictures from my camera just aren’t the same as seeing it in person.. However, I did get a pretty sweet iPhone panorama photo. Take a look down below. :) It almost does it justice.
So big, it had to be supported by some metal beams!!
That’s it for today! Keep an eye out for part two on the blog next week… which will include Rainbow Row, the Charleston Tea Plantation (which is the ONLY tea plantation in North America), and some pretty beach sunset pictures. :) So stay tuned!! Have a great week!
Wow Stephanie! You captured such beautiful memories! Awesome job!
