I have also laid these strategies out in my free launch timeline download. The download includes a calendar view of each structure we will cover. If you’re a visual learner, pause the episode and go grab a copy of the launch timeline! Here’s the link!
Why Launch Structure Matters
I want to preface the rest of the episode by pointing out that planning the details of your launch structure is certainly worth your time and energy. The success of your launch is critical to the profit of your course, so deciding what you will communicate and the timeline of that communication is key.
Structure #1
The first and most simple way to structure your launch for your online course is to prime your audience for four weeks immediately followed by a five-day launch period. Monday – Friday has worked well for me during launches, but you can structure it in whatever way best suits your business.
Priming your audience means preparing them for your upcoming announcement by focusing on your course topic in advance. For weeks before your launch, share real value about that topic in your social media content & emails. This helps to establish your credibility and ensure you’re seen as a leader in your niche.
Structure #2
The second way to structure your launch is with three weeks of priming, one week of promoting and hosting a live launch event, followed by your five-day public launch period. A live launch event could mean a webinar, pop-up podcast, going live on Instagram – or so many things! Most often, live webinars are used to kick off a launch!
Live Events
Live events are a great way to grab your audience’s attention and go much deeper on a topic than you would on social media or in your emails. We see much higher conversion rates from a live launch event than without.
Normally, I hold my webinar on a Thursday or Friday. Viewers get a sneak peak of the entire course and prices, and I can get an idea of how well it might sell to our audience! I also include bonuses in the webinar offer. If someone takes the time to attend, they get a lot of extra value!
Structure #3
The third way to launch your course is by building a waitlist. Priming still happens for about four weeks, but during that time, you are getting people to join a waitlist. Then, those on the waitlist have access to a presale or early bird discount. After the waitlist-only sale period, you can move on to your public launch. Your public launch can still be discounted, but not as much as the presale.
Next week, we’ll talk about one thing that will make your freebies convert into sales. I hope you’ll listen! See you on Monday at 7 am!! Until then, keep up with me over on Instagram!
