The Stephanie Kase Podcast, Episode 2: Why I decided to start a Podcast!

July 12, 2022

In my second episode of the Stephanie Kase podcast, we’re talking all about why I started a podcast. I know people have been wondering why I added a podcast into my brand along with my YouTube channel, Instagram, and email list. I’ve been thinking about a podcast for awhile and the team has recently decided it would be a great time to start! So today, I wanted to share exactly why I decided to start a podcast. I hope it inspires you to think about your own brand!

Why I started a Podcast…

Before we get too far into the reasons, let me backtrack for a second. I’ve wanted to do a podcast for awhile but I knew that I couldn’t do it without more help. I recently hired my second employee and she’s been incredible, her name is Maggie. Because of her, we’re able to make this podcast happen! If it was still just me, there’d be no way I could handle this as my brand continues to grow.

As I spoke with other friends who have podcasts, I figured out that if I had someone else helping me schedule and take care of some of the backend stuff, doing the actual podcast would be pretty easy for me. I’m used to YouTube filming where I have to set up my office, do my hair and makeup, set up the lights and camera.

But, with podcasting, it’s different. I literally took a shower and I’m recording this with wet hair, no makeup, and it’s just so easy. I can fit in recordings around everything else I have to do – and it’s not like that with other platforms. Once I realized this would be much easier on my schedule, I was like: let’s put it out there!

A Deeper Connection

It really has been on my heart for awhile, because I wanted to be able to connect deeper with all of you. I think that’s really the first reason I wanted to start a podcast. It’s a chance to share more thoughts with you and discuss other topics. At this point in my brand, I don’t have a platform where I’m connecting on such a deep level from a consumer’s perspective. For myself, I know that I connect more deeply with brands that have podcasts – because you’re getting to know them on a more personal, day-to-day level.

On the Go Content

I also wanted something that could be a bit more “on the go”. Now my audience has a piece of content that they can listen to – and not have to sit down to watch. There’s also a lot of topics that don’t really fit in a YouTube video the way they might in a podcast, or they don’t necessarily fit with the channel I’m building there. As I continue to build my relationships with all of you, I’m learning what you want to hear from me about and I can decide what kind of content that will be. A podcast really gives me the flexibility to create the type of episodes that YOU want to hear.

That leads me into the third reason. At the end of the day, I just really want this podcast to be listener based. I want these episodes to come from real questions you’re asking – not what I think you want to know or would like. A lot of the ideas I have waiting to become episodes have been asked over and over and over again, specifically about like passive income, how I’m pivoting my business, how I’m scaling my business, how I launched things, even more like using automations in my business and how things are set up or more about like, what are some more personal things.

So if you’re listening and you have ideas, please send in your requests! I really do want to know what you want to hear about –  I want this to feel more personal for all of us. Email me at [email protected] with your questions!! I’m so excited to be on this journey with all of you!
