Brendan and Allie first met while attending LeTourneau University. Their first memory of each other is when Allie tried to sneakily smash left over birthday cake into Brendan’s face. However, her idea didn’t go quite as planned… Brendan caught her hand mid air, and got cake and icing all over his hand. He then quickly took his own hand and smashed Allie’s face. This began a prank war between the two of them, which completely and totally fits them if you’ve EVER met either of them. :) They became good friends for the following couple of years while attending college. Neither of them were interested in dating at the time, but apparently, everyone saw it coming…
After Brendan graduated, they parted ways as he moved on to start his new career, which brought him to Columbus. In the meantime, they occasionally kept in touch… but nothing more than saying hey every once in awhile. However, it is SO evident that God brought them together and really cool to see how He did it. A little over a year ago, Allie was applying for a job herself, being newly graduated. She was convinced she was going to move to North Carolina, and that that’s where she was supposed to be. However, she ended up getting the job in Dayton, Ohio instead. After she moved to Dayton, they only lived a few hours away. They quickly started doing more and more together, and their story quickly unfolded. Brendan invited Allie to do a few things, and after a dinner one night, it was official.
They were engaged last October at Hocking Hills (I was actually the photographer for that too!! :) So fun!). Brendan planned a fun hike with the both of them, Michael, me, and another friend, Zach. Allie thought we were just all hanging out, doing something fun on a nice day. Contrarily, Brendan was planning to propose at the most picturesque spot towards the top of the hike. He had also invited some of their old friends, as well as their family, to come and secretly watch the whole thing. Allie had NO idea he was putting all this together… let alone that a ton of old friends and family were going to be there to celebrate afterward! It was so exciting to watch it all unfold. It was an absolutely perfect day, and I love how surprised Allie was!! :) She was definitely not expecting it at all.
It’s definitely SUPER exciting to have seen their relationship unfold from the start. Michael and I have actually known Brendan since before Allie moved to Ohio, so we’ve been able to see them start dating, get engaged, and in a couple months, get married!!! :) I cannot WAIT for their wedding, it’s going to be so much fun and so precious to see two of our own friends get married. It’s so awesome how God has brought them together and how well they complement each other.
Enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement session this past weekend! :)
