Welcome back to the podcast this week! Today, we’re talking about my Q4 goals. If you didn’t know, I’m a huge fan of quarterly planning. It’s really allowed me to flex and change my goals as the year progresses, and I can see what’s actually working (or not). While I definitely still like to lay out my yearly goals at the start of the year, I think quarterly planning helps me adjust based on life changes, business changes, and things like that. It’s nice to be able to pivot as we need. I do my planning on Kat Schmoyer’s yearly and quarterly calendars because they’re amazing! If you’re looking to start planning for Q4, grab those for sure! Now, let’s dive into this episode.
Business Goals for Q4
Promotional Periods for the Shop + New Products
There’s a few overarching goals that will continue for us, like running the product shop and a few promotional periods we have coming up, plus preparing two possible new products. To start, let’s talk about the promotional periods. We have our SK Shop, and in that shop, I have the Reels Mini Course. We’re going to be running a few different promotional periods on that in Q4. We’ll be running our Black Friday sale for 48 hours, which is always really fun! Everything will be 50% off in the shop. And then a few weeks after that, we’ll be doing a big Christmas sale – mainly on our presents. Around then, we may be launching a new product (so watch for that!), but we’ll nail that down soon. Obviously, all of these promotional periods require more work from me for email writing, work from Maggie, and our whole team.
In October, we’re launching a new Instagram related product. I won’t give away too much but it will be a download to help you plan your Instagram feed for a month. So, that’s going to be really fun!
New Freebies for Our Email List
The next goal I have is that I want to start coming out with new free freebies for our email list, at least once a quarter. These will also be great ways to grow our list. I’m a big believer in having a limited number of free, high-quality free products BUT I think we’re in a place to start working on new ones again. One of our most exciting ideas is a quiz to find out what kind of Reel you should make next! Try it here!
Two New Workflows
Maggie has been helping me with a beast of a project to create two new workflows for our email marketing. These include a new nurture sequence and sales funnel for our Reels Membership. Our existing funnels have done well, but we’ve never done a funnel for the membership… so I’m excited to see how it performs! With our new freebies coming out, these are a great way to get people to look at our other products (and get a discount from their funnel!). I can’t wait to get this up and running. We’ve been working on this before I even went on maternity leave, so it’s crazy that we’re so close finally.
Our nurture sequence is 200 emails long. Yes, 200! That’s not including any sales funnels that get triggered along the way. But, these are emails that my list gets on Mondays. I’ve had one in place for awhile with about 100 emails. It’s been a great tool and super helpful for my students. The new one we’ve been building will have sales funnels every six weeks or so, so if you don’t own that product, you’ll be pushed through that funnel too. So, definitely a beast. But I’m thankful for all of Maggie’s hard work! I’m excited to see how it changes our passive income but it’s been a lot of work upfront. We hope to have it running by the end of the year!!
Get Ahead on Filming
Another goal I have is to get ahead in filming and recording content before Christmas break. I always take a few weeks off after Christmas, so I really want to get my content prepared for my team to prep. In addition to the holidays, we’ll also be moving this year so there’s a LOT to do right now!
There you have it! Those are my business goals for Q4! What are you working on in your own business? How are you preparing for the end of the year? I want to hear all about it!
If you’re listening and you have ideas about what to talk about next, please send in your requests! I really do want to know what you want to hear about in future episodes. Email me at [email protected] with your questions!! I can’t wait to hear from you! Don’t forget to leave us a review on Apple Podcasts, too. We appreciate all of the support and love!
