Let’s talk about my most impactful business investments! Over the last eight years of running my own business, there have been a few times that I made MAJOR investments – so great that it felt almost intimidating. Today, I can say with confidence that those are some of the BEST investments that I ever made for both my business and my personal life. In this episode, I’ll talk about why those investments were so motivating and beneficial for me, and what that might look like for your business.

My First Major Investment
Mastermind or group coaching programs have been some of my most impactful business investments. In 2020, I joined a six-month-long mastermind. At the time, I was new to creating digital products and online courses. I had launched my first digital product a few months earlier, and it was doing well, but I wanted to go further.
Back then, I didn’t know what funnels were, what an email list should do, how to create an online course or what an online course strategy looked like. By teaching me many of those things, that program had a massive impact on my business. The support that I received from both the group host and the participants was invaluable.
I launched my first online course during that mastermind, and immediately made most of my investment back. Even though I had prepared a lot on my own for my audience to be ready for the launch, that mastermind gave me the framework and knowledge ACTUALLY to do it. On top of that, it gave me the resources I needed to make that launch a success within the audience that I built & nurtured.
My Second Major Investment
Skip to 2021: I joined a second mastermind from another online educator and industry leader in the creative space. This group was more community-focused. We were all in a group chat together, we could request feedback from one another, and we had group calls, too.
The other girls inside that group were rockstar business owners, and I got to learn so much from them. Support from the group was sensational, and the ideas that I got from that group revolutionized my business. This was the year I launched the Reels Mini Course, my reels digital products, and my mobile presets!
I felt empowered to step out of photography education and into general business education, which is where my heart TRULY lies. If it were not for that encouragement, I do not know if I would have made such a big move.
Advice for Starting with Digital Products
Wary of being stereotyped as an “Instagram Guru,” I hesitated. However, I learned that it is OKAY to start where your audience sees you as a leader. After building trust, you can pivot and take your audience with you into new spaces.
My advice to anyone getting started with digital products is to start with what your audience wants. You’re going to have a much easier time selling them something they want instead of convincing them of something you think that they want.
Again, I do not think I could have stepped out in this way if it weren’t for my mastermind group. Not only did they support me, but they helped in the creative process of some of my favorite shop products. These products elevated my business in a special way. I experienced huge growth during this program, and I’m grateful because it helped carry me to today, where I have freedom in the direction of my business because of my time spent with that group.
My Third Major Investment
Moving on to 2023: At this point, I wanted to expand our paid offers into things besides Instagram, so I joined a six-week-long “minimind.” With lots of irons in the fire, I knew that I wanted support as I fleshed out the different paid offers, the format of the offers, and courses versus live programs versus digital products. The group established my vision for where I was going in the next year, and gave me real time feedback as I implemented different ideas. By far, this was one of my most impactful business investments.
I began to create new offers and outline the future of my offer suite, and as I did, the support of this group was truly transformative for me.
Feeling empowered, I launched the Passive Income Minimind. As I brought the idea to the table at one of our group calls, I questioned, “Am I credible enough to do this?” Immediately, the group broke down those mental blocks for me. Round One was a HUGE success, and this week, spots opened up for round TWO of the Passive Income Minimind.

What’s Inside the Minimind?
This minimind starts on January 5th.
We will hold multiple hot seat calls up to two long each, where members can ask a couple of questions about what projects they’re working on. The exact call dates and times are determined as a group based on what most members can attend each week. There are document reviews, so you can get a full analysis of different documents for your business. This includes sales pages, email campaigns, social media platform audits, and more. There’s also a group Slack chat where you can ask any questions to the group at any time, and I’ll jump in to respond on a few business days each week.
There is not a specified training. Instead, you bring your questions to the table. You might be wondering: What are the best practices for sales emails?
