In this video, I will show you how to get started with digital products and create passive income! I started with digital products back in 2020, and I have experimented with everything from freebies to high ticket offers. I’ve learned a lot about things I’m SO glad I did, and things I would differently. Hopefully, my experience can help you in your passive income journey, too!!
Step 1: Decide on a niche or leverage existing audience
My first piece of advice is to leverage the people who are already following you. Is there something that you are already gifted at that your audience LOVES to hear about? What is something that you could naturally package up into a digital product such as an online course, downloadable template, a swipe file, ebook, etc.? Consider what your audience will naturally want from you.
Step 2: Start an email list
The most impactful thing I have done to increase my sales was to get serious about my email list. Social media is an incredible complement to what an email list can do for your business, but it cannot stand alone. Social media is made to bring in new people, and email is where you’re going to make sales. My recommendation is, before starting any social media, create & prepare your email list.
Step 3: Create a low ticket digital product
If you’re just starting with digital products, a low ticket offer is an awesome place to begin for a couple of different reasons. First, it’s an easy entry. The product normally requires a low amount of effort (ebook, guide, etc.), and the customer receives a quick & simple win (rather than absorbing an implementing an entire course). Second, low ticket offers do require a higher stream of traffic in order to become sustainable, but they’re a great place for a customer to find you and begin moving through your offer suite.

Step 4: Create a freebie & set up a tripwire (for your digital product)
When you think about your digital product, think about what you might give away for FREE that succinctly leads the subscriber to your offer. For example, I created “10 Free Reels Ideas” to help business owners get started with reels for their business. On top of that, it was the perfect place to pitch my digital product: 100+ Reels Ideas!
Step 5: Start promoting the freebie on Instagram
Take your freebie + tripwire and begin sharing it EVERYWHERE: Instagram stories, posts, and reels. Plan on sharing it across these avenues at least 3-4 times each week.
