I have a VERY special person to introduce to you all!!! This girl is already SUCH a blessing for me! I’m SO excited to introduce you all to my 2020 second shooter, Tristan! She is one half of The Handley Co. and is seriously incredible! Honesty, I can’t even remember where we first met, but we’ve been connected for awhile and have always met up for coffee dates here and there. 

When I started searching for a second shooter to join me at my 2020 weddings, she immediately reached out and I remember literally doing a happy dance when I heard from her!!! She had second shot with me once in the past and did an INCREDIBLE job. Not only are her photographers beyond amazing (and match my style to a tee), her personality and heart is what really makes her awesome. She truly shows up and is there to SERVE on a wedding day! 

I asked her a few questions about herself so you could all get to know her, so let’s dive right in!

Tell us a little about yourself! How did you get started in wedding photography?

Wedding photography was one of the happiest “accidents” I’ve ever had in life! My husband, Ben, and I had just gotten married and I really wanted an outlet to be able to be creative but also wanted to find a way to serve other people and show them how much God loves them!! I bought my first camera and started practicing. Since then, I’ve not been able to put my camera down!

I had just gotten married myself 6 months prior to this, so I felt like I had a special connection to engaged/newly married couples — which is why I wanted to get into wedding photography. Our wedding photographers also had a huge impact on our hearts through the process, so that added to it! After shadowing some photogs in the area and trying my hand at leading a few weddings, I was HOOKED! That was almost four years ago now and I’m still in love with my job :-) 

What is your favorite part about photographing weddings?

My FAVORITE part about photographing weddings is getting to see and witness the joy the couples and their families possess, and then making that joy and emotion show through a still moment in a photograph. It’s the biggest challenge and one not to take lightly, but it inspires me and is my FAVORITE part about photographing weddings!

What do you love outside of photography?

Outside of photography, I am absolutely obsessed with all things Disney (my hubby and I go at least 3x a year), I love to travel and see the beauty of God’s creation, I love hiking and exploring, and I absolutely ADORE working out at Orange Theory Fitness! 

What season of life are you in right now?

Right now, my husband and I are in a huge season of transition and new territory. We recently sold our home in Columbus and are living full time in and renovating an RV! We’re trying to pay off our debt and will start traveling full time in the fall. Until then, we’re spending all of our time loving on our friends and family and serving those around us! 

What are you most looking forward to in 2020?

In 2020 I am really looking forward to starting our full time travel journey!!! Our plan is to head west to Arizona and California. We plan to see the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, the Pacific Coast and sooo much more. Ben has never seen any of that, so we’re REALLY excited!!! 

What’s one fun fact about you?

A fun fact about me is that I can recite the entire script of The Emperor’s New Groove by heart! Literally obsessed with that movie!

Why did you want to become a 2020 Stephanie Kase second shooter?

I wanted to become a second shooter for Stephanie for sooo many reasons. I stand by her mission, am inspired by her heart and service to her couple. And I wanted the opportunity to join in on that and spend time really investing and making her couples feel SO loved on their wedding day!
