Oh my goodness, what a year it has been!! I have been so honored to serve so many amazing couples, this post is definitely swoon-worthy! So many gorgeous portraits, pretty details, and the best couples around. I photographed weddings all around Ohio, and even one for a friend in Alaska!! It was so fun to go back and visit after being gone for so long!
First off, this post is LONG, but wow so pretty!! I am so honored to have captured 11 wedding days in my own business, as well as second shoot 14 other weddings with different photographers- making for 25 weddings total in 2017! I also attended 2 styled shoots, one for Phellowship and one at The Estate at New Albany, and put together 1 mini styled shoot for myself. I have loved being able to incorporate second shooting the past few years, because it always keeps me thinking more creatively! However I’ve been booking faster than ever before for 2018 & 2019, so I am planning on cutting back on second shooting to make more room for my own weddings. But wow, what a blessing it is, to not only know other photographers in the industry to serve even more couples, but to have couples trust me with their day!! :) It is seriously the greatest thing ever!
In April, I put together a mini styled shoot at The Statehouse and Zurie. I loved having the chance to shoot again before an actual wedding! I pulled together some friends to model and florals from Florish. So many beautiful images!!
I kicked off the year with Allie and Brendan’s wedding in Columbus, Ohio. They are both friends of Michael and I, I’ve known Brendan as long as I’ve known Michael!! It’s been so fun to see their love story unfold from the time Allie moved up to Ohio. I was able to photograph their proposal, engagement, AND wedding!! :) So much fun! I loved their light blue colors…
My husband Michael was one of the groomsmen… so that was SO FUN as well :)
And one of my favorite parts from their day was their paper airplane exit. It fits them both PERFECTLY, as Allie is an airplane mechanic and Brendan is an engineer. They are even building an airplane together! I loved it, everyone had so much fun!!
After their wedding, I attended Phellowship, a styled shoot that’s focused on community. It had the most beautiful florals, details, and a wonderful bride & groom! So grateful for all the hard work Kelsie & Monica put into it!!
My first May wedding was with Ivana & Tim at the Athletic Club of Columbus. Wow, was it gorgeous!! Every detail was so stunning, but that wasn’t the best part. These two are some of the most genuine, caring, kind-heart people you’ll ever meet. I am so grateful for their support in my business! They truly love me and my work, and I don’t think they’ll ever know just how encouraging they are to me!! :)
Their bridal party as so fun! That flower girl cracks me up every time!!
Ashley and Tyler’s wedding at Amelita Mirolo Barn was simply amazing! These two are so sweet and I loved being a part of their day. I didn’t meet them at their engagement session until the week before their wedding but it felt like we had been friends for so long!! :) It’s the best when that happens!! Their day was perfectly planned and went so smoothly. Ashley was a stunning bride and simply beaming…
Their first look was the sweetest thing, so much emotion (and me trying to hold back the tears behind the camera!)
Tyler’s face was priceless!!
Their golden hour portraits were some of the BEST yet!! Wow, look at that GLOW!! So worth sneaking out for 10 minutes during the reception!
And this moment during the toasts gets me every time… What a beautiful moment!!
I was SO EXCITED when Maria asked me about the possibility of flying up to Alaska to photograph her and Chad’s wedding… and WOW, it did not disappoint! Complete with portraits in a canoe by a lake with the gorgeous mountains and all!! I was so thrilled at the opportunity to visit after leaving (I lived there for 8 years) and to shoot a wedding there as well! What an amazing opportunity, I am forever grateful for these two for bringing me up!
Her hair was PERFECT!
When your ceremony & first dance has views like this… ;)
Every detail of this wedding was BEAUTIFUL! I just loved the blush colors and Shannon’s dress. And her RING! It’s so unique and I absolutely love it!! Shannon and Jessee were married at the Columbus Athenaeum. It was such a joy to serve them on their day and to photograph it from start to finish!
Shannon’s first look with her dad was so sweet! I am LOVING this trend! :)
Sara & Louie’s wedding day in June was gorgeous from start to finish! And these two were so fun to photograph. They were married at Via Vecchia in Columbus, Ohio. Sara put so much thought into all the details, it truly showed! Their ceremony was so memorable, just wait until you see Louie’s reaction as she walked down the aisle. They were also my very last wedding before my own wedding day!!! :)
Madison House Designs KILLED these florals!
Louie’s reaction as she walked down the aisle. Oh my goodness, I love it! So much emotion. Thanks to my awesome hubby Michael for capturing this one! :)
I took a bit of a break after my own wedding in July, but started it back up again with Katrina & Andrew’s wedding in August at Maplewood Farms! They were another couple I had never met until the week before their wedding, but it already felt like we had known each other for SO LONG! Their day was the perfect summer country wedding on the farm. They did most of their planning out of state and I was so impressed! They did such a good job pulling it all together!!
Their ceremony was so unique! They became husband and wife on an ISLAND! How cool is that!
I loved this moment from the reception… smashing the cupcakes into each other’s faces!! So great!
Fan and Evan kicked off my fall season with their wedding at the Darby House!! I love shooting at this venue, the stone and greenery everywhere is simply gorgeous!! One of my favorite parts was sneaking out for “sunset” photos during the reception. Even though we didn’t get much of a sunset, it was still amazing to capture a few portraits on the long driveway with all the trees!
This veil shot is one of my FAVS. Fun fact: The veil had fallen out of Fan’s head, so we were just rollin’ with it. :)
My love for Lauren and Dave is great! These two are seriously one of the best couples EVER. Love them to death!! Their wedding at the Savannah Center in West Chester, Ohio was gorgeous from start to finish. Lauren thought out every detail and I loved how she is a planner! I love working with brides who love to plan, I can relate so much and we work so great together! :) Their bridal party was so fun and joyful, I loved getting to know them all as well.
These florals!!! They did such a great job creating them with the Flowerman!
This is one of my favorite shots! I thought of this at the last minute and quickly told Michael to go to the back so he could grab this shot. The beauty of having amazing second shooters! He took my idea and ran with it. I love the outcome!! :)
Their sunset portraits were a DREAM!
Abby and W.j.’s wedding was the last fall wedding of the year and it was amazing!! They also had the best sunset photos! The glow has been amazing this year! :) Abby’s dress was GORGEOUS!!! The lace sleeves were to DIE for! It photographed so beautifully.
Her shoes were also a favorite of mine! So pretty!
I loved their bubble exit after their ceremony!! So many fun moments!
I was so honored to be asked to join the styled shoot at the Estate at New Albany! Brides, this new venue in town is DREAMY and so incredible. Not only does it photograph beautifully, but the staff there are on top of it! Definitely should be a consideration!! :)
The last wedding of the year was Presney & Ivon’s wedding at the Westin and La Scala! What a fun way to wrap up the year! They have so much joy when they’re around each other, its contagious! It was a beautiful winter day that wasn’t freezing cold, which was amazing! So many gorgeous details, from the ceremony in the ballroom to the donuts at the reception (secretly my favorite part!).
This blush wall was perfect for portraits!! I love finding these hidden gems!
Presney surprised Ivon and rented a BENTLEY to take them to their reception! His reaction was priceless!! I just love the portraits we snagged in front of it!
Hope you enjoyed looking at all the pretty from all my 2017 weddings! I cannot wait for what 2018 holds and all the weddings I get to capture! :)
