In this video, I will demonstrate how to make an easy reel in 2024. I’ll give you the concept, text boxes, and timing to use in creating your next reel!

Create Your Reel

Let’s learn how to make an easy reel! First, open the reels editor. Add your b-roll to the reel. Ideally, it will be about 10 seconds in length for the three text boxes that we want to add. I keep all of my b-roll in a separate album in my camera roll so that it’s super easy to access when it comes time to create reels. For this reel, the focus is going to be my niche (business education), so I will select a video of me that relates to my work in some way.

Next, choose your audio. I recommend selecting something that is trending.

Choose Your Call-to-Action

Now, decide your call to action. Are you sharing a freebie, a paid offer or something inspirational? Determine what step you hope your viewer takes after watching your reel. For this example, I will use my 10 Free Reels Ideas as the call to action.

Using Manychat

On Instagram, I use Manychat to automatically share my links. I will prompt the viewer to comment a trigger word, and then Manychat will take over DMing them the link to my freebie! You can watch my Manychat tutorial here!

Add Your Text Boxes

Here are the text boxes that you will take and tweak to make this reel your own:

• #2: Now you can.
• #3: Comment KEYWORD to learn how.

Edit Your Text Boxes

As the total length of my reel is 10 seconds, I’m going to have each text box start three seconds apart and stay on the screen for the length of the reel. I normally try to use consistent fonts and colors so that my reels are easily recognizable.

Save Your Reels

When I’m done with a reel, I always save it to my camera roll. This prevents me from losing my drafts because of a glitch. Then, when I’m ready to post, I can pull up my drafts or upload my own copy!
