How to SAVE MUSIC on Instagram Reels (FAST & EASY TUTORIAL)

October 26, 2022

Trying to figure out how to save music or audio on Instagram so you can make Reels later for your own business or brand? Today, I’m showing you a step-by-step tutorial on my phone of how to save music and audio on Instagram so that you can find it later to create your Instagram Reels. Let’s get started!

how to save music and audio on Instagram Reels: fast and easy tutorial

Saving Audio in the Reels Tab

Open up the Reels tab on Instagram. When you come across a music or sound that you want to save for your own Reels, all you have to do is select the name of that audio at the bottom of your screen. An extra tip for you: if that audio has an upward arrow next to it, it means that it’s trending, which is always a good thing! Click on the name and on the next page, select “save audio” at the top right of the screen. If you don’t see the “save” option on this screen, make sure you’re on a creator account for Instagram.  Obviously, if you’re ready to create a Reel now with that audio, you can select “use audio” and create your Reel.

Saving Audio from Your Feed

Now, if you find a sound or music that you want to use when scrolling through your feed, things are slightly different. Look at the top of the Reel you’re watching under the account’s username. There, you should see the title of the sound or music. Tap on that and you’ll be at the same “save” or “use” options as before.

How to Use Saved Sounds

So, once you’ve found and saved all of the sounds you want to use for Reels, you need to know how to use them! Go to your Reels editing interface (where you’d create a Reel) and select the music note icon on the left hand side of your screen.  At the very top of the screen that opens is a button that says “save”. Select that! There, all of audio that you’ve ever saved will be linked and you can create your Reel.

Another way to access your saved sounds and music is by going to your profile. Select the little three lines in the upper right hand corner. Choose “saved” and you’ll see that the first folder is labeled “audio”. There, you can select the audio and create or delete the sound.

I hope that this tutorial was helpful! I love helping you learn these easy but useful hacks to create more short form content.
