About one week ago I went to visit Nashville, Tennessee with two of my sweet photographer friends, Kelsie and Monica! We went for four days as a long weekend and it was SO FUN. We did so many things in the short time we were there, so I’m excited to share all the things we did!! If you’re planning a Nashville trip, this will give you LOTS of ideas… or if you’re not, it will make you want to go ;)
Be prepared for a LOT of photos because that’s what happens when three photographers go on a trip together!! :) First, a quick recap travel video from our trip:
Instead of breaking it up by each day, I’m going to break it up more by location because that makes it waaaaay easier, haha! We kind of went all over the place each day! So the first area is near downtown. We went down to Broadway for one night and it was so fun! Wild Horse Saloon is a blast is you love line dancing.
Pinewood Social (all the photos below) is a SUPER cute little place really close to downtown, along the river! It’s a restaurant/bar/coffee shop all into one with a bowling alley in the back and an outdoor seating area. It even has a pool with an airstream in the summer! SO CUTE!
The next area we went to is 12th south. This is, without a DOUBT one of my favorite areas in Nashville. It’s SO ADORABLE and has so many cute shops and places to stop. We went to Draper James (Reese Witherspoon’s store), Amelia’s Flower Truck, Flipside, and stopped at allllll the cute walls along the way (including the flower one by the Green Pea Salon). We also stopped at Frothy Monkey for some coffee (in my case, some AMAZING chai ;)) and Five Daughters Bakery for amazing donuts!!
We also ventured in the south west side of Nashville. We went to Cheekwood and Belle Meade Plantation. Unfortunately Cheekwood didn’t have any blooms yet but it was still so pretty to go and walk around! Belle Meade is one of my favorite places in Nashville, it’s such a gorgeous place with some of the BEST wine. The free wine tastings at the end of the tour is definitely one of the best parts!! If you ever go, my favorite is their Blackberry!
First up, some photos from Cheekwood:
Now Belle Meade! See how pretty it is?! Ahh I love it!! I would DIE to photograph a wedding here! I have shot one wedding in Nashville (last year!) and would LOVE to go back! :) Traveling to shoot weddings is so fun!!
Next is the Gulch! It has so many awesome walls, like this colorful one and the wings mural. Biscuit Love is also down there, unfortunately we didn’t get to stop in for food but I’ve been once before and it is AMAZING. Definitely stop by this area and walk around!! You get free parking for the first hour there!
This doesn’t really fit anywhere but I had to throw it in… Cotton & Snow. Michael (my hubby) and I found this gem when we visited Nashville last year. It’s on the north east side of town and DEFINITELY worth stopping (but be prepared for a lottttt of sugar). I’m holding the smallest size they offer. You can literally get cotton candy on top of your shave ice and it’s amazing. Yes, there are BIGGER sizes. It is crazy but crazy amazing!!
Okay, now back to the gulch: This is actually closer to downtown too. It’s the Nashville Public Library on Church street. It’s absolutely gorgeous with these beautiful marble staircases. Note: Professional photography is not allowed but they let us shoot because it was for fun/travel! :) You can also get free parking if you get validation from the library!
Last place we stopped Tuesday morning before we came back to Ohio was Narrows of the Harpeth! It was SO worth stopping at and getting a little hike in. Here’s this beautiful overlook at the top, and at the bottom a water tunnel. It only took us 15 minutes or so to hike up here, super easy!!
Hope you enjoyed this Nashville recap post with photography and video from our trip there! Comment below if you’ve been to any of these places before, and you should DEFINITELY visit if you never have. It’s such a fun city!!
