One of my favorite books is the Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman (I talk all about it in THIS blog post!). There is something so simple, yet so incredible about figuring out your “love language”: the way you long to be loved. It gives such a deep understanding of yourself and how you want to be loved by those around you. What’s especially important is it gives you insight into other people, and helps us to see how we should love others with different love languages. I believe this is especially important with your significant other, whether or not you’re married!!
If you’ve never heard of love languages before, there are five main ones: acts of service, physical touch, words of affirmation, gift giving, and quality time. You likely have one or two primary love languages that make you feel the MOST loved by someone when they do that act for you.
My primary love language is acts of service, and always has been. I didn’t realize until recently that I think it’s one of the reasons why I love serving others in my business SO MUCH. It literally fills me with so much joy to simply do things for others. Not necessarily in gift giving, but in action. I think it’s because that’s how I feel the most loved, so I’m very inclined to give it in the same way! It fits my business so perfectly, because I run such a personal brand that is focused on serving my clients well!!
What is your love language? How does your love language play into your business, work, or life in general? Tell me in the comments below! I can’t wait to hear what yours is!
