Highlights of 2017

January 26, 2018

2017 has been such a good year. It’s the year Michael and I got married, we started our lives together in our first home, friendships grew, and my business grew in so many ways. I am so grateful for 2017 and am eagerly looking forward to the new year!!

Here are my top highlights from 2017:

1. Planning our wedding. I really had a fun time planning everything, especially after photographing so many weddings as a photographer!!! It was so fun for it to be my turn to be a bride. We were engaged at the end of December of 2016, so all of the planning took place in 2017!! We also had engagement photos taken… FOUR times… haha, Michael is such a trooper!! I just have too many talented friends! :) I have to say, our favorites were definitely from Kari, though! I still look back at them allll the time!!!

Photos taken by Michelle Joy Photography, right after we got engaged!!

Photos by my sweet friend Kelsie Lynn Photography, so fun to take these with her!!

Photo by Lauren Lee Photography, I loved getting some under these pretty spring blooms!!

2. Getting married. Of course this is my TOP highlight of 2017!!! :) One of the best days of our LIVES!! Our wedding day was nothing short of amazing. We are so happy that Kari was able to capture it and how wonderful the whole experience was!! It was amazing being a bride and planning all the little details. Here are a few of my favorite photos from our day (so hard to just choose a few, so definitely check out the blog link above!!)

3. Decorating our first home together. Michael and I both LOVE to decorate and have had a blast decorating our first apartment together. It makes me so excited for when we have an even bigger home to decorate!! We have loved having our own space to do what we want with and it’s become one of our favorite “hobbies.”

4. Traveling to Anchorage, Alaska. This was Michael and I’s first time flying together for a trip and it was so fun!! We went up there to photograph one of my friend’s weddings. We were also able to stay several more days to travel and visit all of the places I used to go when I lived there. We explored around Anchorage, did some hiking, as well as took a day trip to Seward. It was so fun seeing old friends and places. Michael and I can’t wait until we can go back someday!! See the full post here!!
