December 8, 2017

Helloooo friends!! Today is a wonderful day because it’s DAY ONE of my new blog series, Friday Recap! YAY!!! :) This new series will give me a chance to share more glimpses into my day to day life, what really happens in the life of a photographer. Or something like that. ;) Haha. I can’t wait to keep sharing more of y life through this! It’s going to be so fun, and I hope you love learning more about me along the way!

This one’s going to be a little more about the past 1.5 weeks, y’know, because there’s some catching up to do. ;) So some of the things that went on this past week and a half:

  • Zurie Studio hosted an Industry Mixer for those in the wedding industry and it was amazing! I was able to meet so many new faces, and so many that were familiar to me on Instagram… but not in real life. Isn’t that how so many connections start when you’re a photographer?! Ha! So happy I was able to attend since shooting there this past spring, and that the ladies at Zurie hosted it! I loved getting to see so many industry friends!
  • My new Sigma 85mm lens came in the mail. AHHH. I am already in love. I used it for the first time at Presney & Ivon’s engagement session this past weekend, and wow, it did not disappoint. I had been eyeing it for awhile and I know it’s going to get a LOT of use in 2018 and beyond!! :) Seriously, the bokeh is soooo dreamy and the colors are unreal!
  • I am having a lot of fun decorating our apartment with holiday decor! It’s the first time I’ve had a place of my own to decorate and I am loving it. My new favorite thing is Hearth & Hand (Johanna Gaines is basically the most wonderful woman alive). It’s hard to not buy EVERYTHING. Honestly I should really say our holiday decor is “brought to you by Johanna Gaines.” :)
  • I was able to visit home and see my family, and of course the pupsters, Libby!! So naturally, there are an unnecessary amount of photos in this post for just one visit :) I love her puppy snuggles!
  • I also had the opportunity to attend a fun evening hosted by Natasha with Perfectly Planned Weddings. Wow, what a refreshing night chatting with other photographers in Columbus. It was SO GOOD and I am so grateful to have gone!! So many sweet friends who were there as well! :)
  • I love getting save the dates & cards from my couples. I seem to take a picture of or with them every time I receive them in the mail. One of my favorite things ever!
  • And lastly, fuzzy socks. Need I say more? They are my best friend as the winter months start approaching. There is some discussion, though, as to whether or not they are pandas, dogs, polar bears, or some other kind of animal. Old Navy says they were supposed to be dogs. But everyone seems to have their own opinion. This discussion regarding these fuzzy socks may or may not has been going on for at least a year.
  • Also, I know. We have a lot of mugs. Michael and I are kinda obsessed. Which is why we have a whole hutch dedicated to storing & displaying them. And I always want MORE!
