Now you get to meet the SECOND intern, Monica! Brides and grooms, if this girl is helping to shoot your wedding… you are going to feel so served! One of the biggest words I would use to describe her is servant-hearted (okay, that’s two words, but you get the picture!) She is SO eager to do anything she can to help… I mean, anything! And is constantly looking for opportunities to serve you all, from holing your bouquet to carrying the dress… this girl is on it!
I am so honored to have her as one of my interns and can’t wait for you to meet her! Meet Monica, everyone!
Tell us a little about yourself! Where are you from?
I am from Celina, OH which is a very small town about two hours from Columbus.
What do you love outside of photography?
I am a very adventurous person so I love to hike, rollerblade, ski, or anything outdoors! I also love spending time with my friends and family, especially my mom because she is my BEST friend.
What is your favorite part about photographing weddings?
My favorite part about photographing weddings is the raw emotion and love. The fact that two people were brought together by God and are declaring to love each other for the rest of their lives is SO powerful. The moments throughout the day are so amazing because each and every person comes together to celebrate this special couple and give their support. The emotions that flow throughout the day & tears of joy are the absolute best because they are usually unplanned and show the undying love between so many people.
How did you get started in photography?
I got started in photography by taking my parents very old camera and photographing EVERYTHING. I found it as a passion very early on and wanted to capture every moment. My family probably thought I was over doing it most the time but I have always loved capturing moments that I can reflect on forever.
What season of life are you in right now?
I am in a season of joyous waiting. Many things are taking off for my business & I am also in the process of applying and planning for Chiropractic schools. I am trusting God more and more with every step of my life and His plan for me.
What are you most looking forward to in 2019?
I am looking forward to all my adventures and life changes. I will be attending a mission trip in Thailand, growing my business even more, and hopefully moving to Georgia for Chiropractic school in the winter, and any other changes that God wishes for my life and business.
What made you want to become a SK intern?
STEPHANIE. She is absolutely wonderful, her photography and soul! Steph is a light for so many and truly wishes to change the lives of her clients and other creatives. She has so much to offer and I know that I can learn only the best from her.
What’s one thing in your life you are really grateful for?
My family, friends, and God’s faithfulness. They have been my rock this past year. They support me, help if I am ever in need, and give me a time away when gets crazy. God has also shown me to trust in Him more than I ever have and has been SO faithful in what He has given in return.
What’s one thing you’re loving lately?
Something I have been loving lately is having my fuzzy socks on, drinking a big cup of peppermint hot chocolate, and listening to the podcast ‘Girl’s Night’ by Stephanie May Wilson. I have been inspired in more ways than one by Stephanie Wilson and the amazing women that are hosted on the podcast. It is definitely a MUST to listen to and I promise there is at least one episode for someone! Once you start listening, you’ll be hooked! :)
What’s one fun fact about you?
A fun fact about me is that I have THE CUTEST yellow lab! He’s my little man and I love him so much! :)
