This post has been LONG awaited and I can’t believe I’m finally getting to share it with you all!! Wow, where do I even start?! I’ve been a part of a lot of styled shoots, but last year, I had a dream to put one together as the only photographer attending (meaning, I would be planning the entire thing too!). Last year, I got married at Jorgensen Farms Oak Grove in New Albany, Ohio and KNEW I needed to shoot there soon… I mean, it’s literally SO DREAMY. I loved everything about it for my own wedding there last year. There are so many beautiful spots for photos, including the white walls inside the building, the big fields, oak trees, and of course, the GREENHOUSE. Guys, this place is magical and I know I might be biased but I really don’t think I am… every time I shoot here, there’s just something about the venue that makes the photos look so dreamy!! The venue has that outdoor feel but without being too rustic. It’s surrounded by Oak trees and has a classy, outdoor wedding feel. Basically, if you’re getting there and don’t have a photographer yet… hire me. Please. You’ll make my Oak Grove wedding-shooting dreams come true. :)
If one thing came from planning this styled shoot, I was hoping to create a space where new friendships would be formed. I wanted everyone to feel energized after being a part of it and to just have FUN. Well, putting together and executing this exceeded all of my wildest dreams and expectations. Every vendor did so much to make it simply AMAZING. Not only was everything beautiful (I mean, just wait until you see these images…) the atmosphere was just so uplifting and energizing. I left feeling so refreshed and SO ready to tackle the 2018 wedding season!
My vision for this shoot was to create something organic, romantic, and with a lot of dusty blue and blush colors incorporated throughout. Past that, I wanted every detail to reflect MARRIAGE and how that’s what a wedding day is really all about. All the pretty is great, but the deeper meaning of the day can get lost sometimes and that’s what I wanted this shoot to reflect. A lot of the little details show the importance of that, from the vow books (which Mark and Nicole read off during the shoot… CUE THE TEARS) down to the quote we wrote on the cake. Mark and Nicole, the bride & groom models, are huge proponents of encouraging marriage which made it all the more special. They are also photographers and videographers themselves, and they were NATURALS in front of the camera!!
Enjoy all the pretty from this organic Oak Grove, marriage-inspired styled shoot!
