This past week I traveled to Oahu, Hawaii and while I was there, I KNEW I needed to photograph an adventurous couples session… then I found Kelcie and John!! I was SO glad they agreed to do a shoot there, because I mean, HAWAII. Do I need to say anymore?! The beach and mountains and scenery there is UNREAL (like nowhere else) and it was so fun to shoot a couple and just have FUN. We headed to Laie beach (aka Pounder’s Beach) for their sunrise anniversary session and guys… just WAIT until you see all of these!!

My trip to Oahu was more than just a time to relax and have fun… something unexpected happened. It stirred something in me to make big changes in my business. I’m going to be sharing more in the future, but I want my brand to go in a direction of being more REAL because let’s be honest… marriage and relationships and LIFE are never perfect. Perfectly styled details and pretty ballrooms aren’t what a couple is going to look back on years from now and remember their wedding by… it’s the moments that happen on their day and the journey they began together. I want to showcase more of THAT in my business, which means sharing more of the in-between and my real-life stuff as well. I’m excited to get started on this new direction and can’t wait for it to unfold!

I couldn’t have asked for a BETTER couple to photograph in Hawaii. They are so real and down to earth. They moved to Hawaii a couple of years ago (just a year after they got married) and are now celebrating three years of marriage!! They originally met through a college class and they explained how things unfolded so naturally. They became friends then started dating… and were married in Pennsylvania, where Kelcie grew up! John originally came from Ohio which is super fun, because that’s where Michael and I live right now! :)

These two were seriously so fun to hang out with, and I’m excited to share their destination couples session with you in Oahu, Hawaii!! Seriously dying to photograph another one of these adventure sessions again (;)). ENJOY my favorites from our time together!!
